A local person I happened to meet recommended to me, ``It's an acidic lake just like Zao's Okama! It's beautiful, so you should go!'' So I went there.
I went there several times after that, and each time the color of the lake surface was different, and I lost track of time and was enchanted by its beauty.
As you walk along the lake shore, you will see places where sulfur is spewing out and feel the heat of the earth.
It was cloudy, but miraculously the sun shone for a moment. The color changes depending on the sunlight, so I would like to visit it another time.
P.S.: I will also add a photo taken again during the autumn leaves season. The color changes depending on the sun.
Caldera lake caused by volcanic eruption.
It is said that no fish live there due to the strong acidity.
The water was very clear and beautiful.

I visited again when the autumn leaves were in full bloom.
It's not as crowded as Naruko Gorge, and you can park your car right away and take a leisurely stroll.
The water was as clear as ever, and the combination of the blue sky and autumn leaves was very beautiful.
It was very beautiful. There were some places where sulfur was coming out and the smell of sulfur was strong. It seems like a swamp where no living things can live, but there were ducks and it was cute. I would like to go again when the autumn leaves are in full bloom.
The lake is acidic so there are no fish, but the scenery is beautiful.

This year's 19th solo trip to Michinoku, which I decided to make on short notice two days in advance, was Naruko's first since December last year.
On my last visit, I chose a group-style accommodation, so Naruko's "THE. Onsen" feeling was completely burnt out.
This time, we decided to stay overnight without meals, with the emphasis on enjoying the hot springs to the fullest.
Before entering the hotel, I visited here, which I couldn't see last time due to the closure period.
Thanks to the good weather, you can witness the cobalt blue and emerald green that change depending on the sunlight.
There were times when clouds blocked the sunlight, and I was able to enjoy the gaps.
Although it was a weekday, there were a few people enjoying SUP and rowing boats.
I couldn't confirm the hours of use of the rowing boat, but is it cheaper to use it for 1,000 yen?
Most of the surrounding trees were still green, but I could see some that were starting to change color little by little.
This time I looked at it from an angle that was almost flat with the lake surface, but on the way back I suddenly thought that it might have been more beautiful if I looked from a slightly higher position near the clay shooting range.
I learned that there is a place like this in Naruko Onsen. I found it on the map and went there. It was a wonderful view.
When I visited
I was already full and couldn't enter the rest house.
I went there on October 3, 2023, and there were a lot of small winged insects stuck to my car on the way home, and even though I tried to shoo them away with my hands, they kept coming closer. I managed to get into the car, but a few bugs also got inside. It’s already the worst😖💦💨
It is unclear whether it was attracted by the black color or the heat of the car. Was it the time of the insect outbreak?
I've been to Naruko many times, but I never thought a place like this existed.
official? As stated on the website, the roads that are guided by your car's navigation system may be closed.
It might be better to do some research before going.
The road was narrow and I arrived feeling anxious as to whether this was really the road.
The weather was not good that day, but there was a beautiful lake with the smell of sulfur.
There was also a rest house and a boat for rent.
There weren't too many people, so I took my time by the lake. It's a hidden gem!
